Teaching Experience:

Having a well-balanced education in both piano pedagogy and performing has been my strength as a teacher. My graduate degrees (DMA/MM) integrated research on pedagogical methods and curriculum development/assessment, in addition to further studies in piano performance. Without compromising my passion for performing, I gained some of the most valuable skills and knowledge needed to become an educator.

Prior to starting my career in academia, I served as Coordinator of the University of Iowa’s Pre-College Piano Conservatory where I had a full studio of motivated pre-college students in addition to managing the program and mentoring other teachers. Through this experience, I gained knowledge in effectively establishing a nurturing and trusting relationship with young students and their parents. I believe relationship building with students and parents is extremely important in realizing the full potential of every young pianist who comes to my studio.
